PRACTICE TASKS

Practice Task 1

Some codes and conventions I liked from these magazines are:
  • Black and white images
  • Large, bold masthead
  • Minimal sell-lines
  • Consistent colour-scheme
  • White box around model
  • Diverse models
  • Medium close-up image
Here are my fashion magazine cover designs:

How to change f-stop on:

Canon 600D: Turn the Mode dial to align the M with the indicator line. Select your ISO by pressing the ISO button on the top of the camera, and then turning the Main dial.
Panasonic G3/GH4: Toggle using ring on top-right of the body of the camera.

How to change the shutter speed:

Canon 600D: Point the camera at your subject and then activate the camera meter by depressing the shutter button halfway. View the exposure information in the bottom area of the viewfinder or by looking at the rear display panel. While the meter is activated, use your index finger to roll the Main dial left and right to change your shutter speed value
Panasonic G3/GH4: Shutter-Priority [S] mode allows you to select a shutter speed and ISO value, while the camera sets the lens aperture. [S] mode is often used while shooting sports events or moving subjects. Whether you want to freeze the subject in action or you want to portray the motion of the subject, use the Shutter-Priority mode [S] of your Lumix camera.
